Strengthen internal teams on data integration
Bring Talend skills to projects the bank had already started.

The client
A major banking player in Madagascar, modernizing its information systems, data flows and digital services.
The bank was running two very different projects at once: data integration between its systems, already under way with its internal teams, and a new web service for its retail customers.

The challenge
Bring Talend skills to projects the bank had already started.
Make data exchanges between systems more robust and properly tested.
Design, build and launch the bank’s new consumer website.
Explicit governance and tracked quality, in a sector where mistakes are costly.
What we built
A team embedded in the bank’s teams, working on integrating data flows between its systems and making them more reliable.
Design, development and delivery of the platform, followed by training and knowledge transfer to the bank’s teams.
The two projects followed different logics. For data, long-term reinforcement embedded in the bank’s teams. For the website, a delivered and handed-over build, run as a fixed-price IT project. We adapted the engagement to the need, not the other way around.
Team and organization
2 Talend developers · 1 QA engineer · 1 business analyst. Based in the bank’s offices, alongside internal teams.
1 project manager · 2 Drupal developers (front end and back end). Design, development and delivery of the consumer website, then knowledge transfer.
On the data side, the business analyst connects the work to the bank’s business needs and the QA engineer tests the development work. On the web side, the project manager led the platform from design to delivery. A dedicated IT team is how we deliver when the need is long-term; a fixed-price project suits a defined scope, such as a platform to deliver.
Technologies used
Talend is used to design and run data integration flows between the bank’s systems: extraction, transformation and loading. Drupal powers the retail web platform, built on both the front end and back end by the web team.
Outcome
Client testimonial

The on-site data team included two Talend developers, a QA engineer and a business analyst. The web team included a project manager and two Drupal developers (front end and back end).
The two needs were different. Data flow reinforcement was long-term, alongside internal teams; the web platform was a defined scope to design, deliver and hand over. See our dedicated IT team and fixed-price IT project offers.
On the data side, through a QA engineer embedded in the team and a business analyst leading the work. On the web side, through a project manager who led the platform from design to delivery, within explicit project governance.
The web team provided training and knowledge transfer to the bank’s teams, so they could take ownership of the delivered platform. See also our offshore IT development offer.
