ASP.NET Core Development: Reliable Web Applications and APIs in Production

Etixio builds your web applications and APIs with ASP.NET Core: business software, portals, services connected to your data and your information system. We build, take over and release to production, including AI features exposed through your APIs.

Understanding the technology

ASP.NET Core in your project.

ASP.NET Core is the web framework of the .NET ecosystem. It is used to build APIs and server-side applications, with mechanisms to organize requests, authentication and dependencies. We use it to develop the logic of a piece of software and expose it to user interfaces or other systems.

The benefits for your product

Why choose ASP.NET Core?

ASP.NET Core is the natural choice for a web application or API in a .NET environment. Open source, cross-platform and maintained by Microsoft, it combines strong performance with a comprehensive security framework.

High performance

The Kestrel server, native async support and ahead-of-time (AOT) compilation place ASP.NET Core among the fastest web frameworks in public benchmarks.

Cross-platform

The same application can be deployed on Windows, Linux or macOS, in containers, on Azure or with another cloud provider.

Built-in security

Authentication, policy-based authorization, anti-CSRF protection, CORS, HTTPS and HSTS, rate limiting and data protection APIs are provided by the framework.

A complete ecosystem

Entity Framework Core for data, SignalR for real time, gRPC for service-to-service communication, Identity for accounts, plus built-in configuration and logging.

Long-term support

.NET LTS releases provide a clear maintenance schedule for applications that need to last.

Our scope of work

The work we take on.

Business APIs

Structure contracts, input validation and access rules.

Application services

Separate business rules from HTTP exchanges, storage and integrations.

Operations

Prepare configuration, logs and tests for deployed services.

Our ASP.NET Core expertise

What we master with ASP.NET Core.

Application models

Minimal APIs for lightweight services, MVC controllers for structured APIs, Razor Pages and Blazor for server-side interfaces.

Pipeline & security

Custom middleware, dependency injection, JWT Bearer, OpenID Connect or cookie authentication, CORS and security headers.

Data access

Entity Framework Core for most cases, Dapper or ADO.NET for queries where control over the SQL matters.

Real time & communication

SignalR for live notifications and dashboards, gRPC and Protocol Buffers for service-to-service communication, native WebSockets.

On architecture and quality, we apply a clear separation of layers (Clean Architecture, CQRS where useful), xUnit tests, integration tests with WebApplicationFactory and Testcontainers, and systematic code reviews. ASP.NET Core is part of our broader .NET C# development practice.

ASP.NET Core and AI

Exposing AI features through your APIs.

An ASP.NET Core API is often the right place to host an AI feature: it controls who calls it, what data is sent to the model and what is returned to the interface. Search across your documents, data extraction, a business assistant or an agent that acts on your tools: we build the service around the model, with authentication, logging, evaluations, streaming responses and cost tracking.

In the field

From technology to real-world use.

On a case management portal, the work can cover validation rules, user roles and exchanges with an existing master data system. We separate business operations from the HTTP layer, then verify authorizations and transactions. An incomplete case or an unavailable integration must produce expected, understandable behavior.

The choices that matter

The choices to review before building.

The framework alone does not define the architecture. You need to choose the boundaries between services, the persistence strategy and how long-running operations are handled. We also review the company’s identity system, the hosting environment and the skills that will handle maintenance.

From work to deliverables

Delivery your team can take over.

The scope of work specifies the components to build or take over and the validation conditions. We prepare what is needed to understand the changes, verify them and continue the work.

Frequently asked questions

ASP.NET Core: your questions.

What is ASP.NET Core and why is it fast?

ASP.NET Core is Microsoft’s open source, cross-platform web framework. Its performance comes from the optimized .NET runtime, native async support, the Kestrel server and ahead-of-time (AOT) compilation available for some services.

Is ASP.NET Core suitable for enterprise applications?

Yes. It is Microsoft’s reference framework for web applications and APIs, with long-term support, built-in security and a complete ecosystem for data, identity and monitoring.

What is the difference between ASP.NET (.NET Framework) and ASP.NET Core?

ASP.NET on .NET Framework is limited to Windows and is no longer evolving. ASP.NET Core is cross-platform, open source and faster. New projects start on the latest .NET LTS release, and existing applications can migrate step by step.

How do you optimize the performance of an ASP.NET Core application?

End-to-end async, response caching and distributed caching, compression, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3, connection pooling and optimized database queries. We measure with profiling tools and BenchmarkDotNet before optimizing.

Is ASP.NET Core a good fit for microservices?

Yes. Docker containers, Kubernetes deployment, health checks, externalized configuration, distributed tracing and gRPC between services are all supported. That said, we only split services when responsibilities and deployment needs justify it.

Which databases work with ASP.NET Core?

PostgreSQL, SQL Server or MySQL through Entity Framework Core, MongoDB or Cosmos DB for document data, Redis for caching. Dapper complements EF Core for the most performance-sensitive queries.

How do you secure an ASP.NET Core application?

ASP.NET Core Identity, JWT tokens, OAuth2 and OpenID Connect for authentication; policy-based authorization; data protection APIs, anti-CSRF, CORS, HTTPS, HSTS, rate limiting and strict input validation.

How do you test an ASP.NET Core application?

Unit tests with xUnit and Moq or NSubstitute, integration tests with WebApplicationFactory and Testcontainers, run on every change in the continuous integration pipeline, supplemented by code reviews.

Can AI be added to an existing ASP.NET Core API?

Yes. Model calls, document search and agents are added as API services, with the same authentication, logging and testing rules. We also take over AI POCs and bring them to production.

What engagement models do you offer?

A fixed-price project for a defined scope, a dedicated team to evolve your application over time, or targeted work: migration to modern .NET, performance, Entity Framework.

Let’s talk about your technical context.
